Ash Tree - Flaxinus angustifolia Jells Park May 18-2017

The sudden drop of temperature in May brings fog and frost. Slowly the deciduous leaves turn into yellow, orange and auburn red. Warmer weather in the previous months has made the autumn colours come very late. Our pear trees are still green.

Misty and Frosty Morning:

I woke up late and the mist was not as thick anymore. I went to the front yard and managed to capture the thinning fog in the background. The red Nandina leaves were covered with frosty dew. Thick fog in the morning would bring bright sunny day and later in the afternoon it was bright and sunny indeed.

Autumn Leaves:

Ash Tree (Fraxinus angustifolia) at the Ashes barbeque area in Jells Park. From all the trees in this area, only one in the open corner that has fully turned red. Those in the middle of the field that are less exposed to cold air, still kind of yellow colour.

The maple bonsai trees are blazing red. Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum) and Trident Maple (Acer buergeranium).

Chinese Pistachio (Pistacia chinensis):

The falling leaves, drift by the window. The autumn leaves of red and gold.

I see your lips, the summer kisses. The sunburned hand I used to hold…….
